Praia de Carvoeiro em Lagoa

Enquanto passeava, depois de fotografar o local e o desenho que tinha feito, conheci um pintor da região que vendia algumas aguarelas junto à praia, trocamos algumas ideias sobre arte e artistas, ele viu os meus desenhos, eu vi os dele, acabou por ser uma partilha bem interessante, acabando por me contar um pouco da sua história de vida.

Era pintor há 40 anos não tinha feito mais nada da vida e orgulhava-se de ter sempre conseguido viver da pintura, disse-me que o maior erro da vida, (relativamente à sua carreira) tinha sido, ter vindo viver para o Algarve.

Quando desembarcou vindo de Chaves, a sua terra natal, apaixonou pelo clima e pela região, mas essa paixão, tinha feito com que perdesse a oportunidade de se ter tornado um pintor mais famoso, pois dizia, que "Portugal é só Lisboa e o resto é paisagem", por acaso é um sentimento partilhado por inúmeros portugueses de outras regiões do país, pois as coisas parecem acontecer de forma mais lenta ou não acontecer, quando se trata destas zonas, principalmente numa área como a cultura.

While walking, after photographing the site and the drawing that was done, I met a painter who was selling some watercolors from the region  by the beach, we exchanged some ideas about art and artists, he saw my drawings, I saw his, ended up being a sharing interesting and eventually tell me a little about his life story.

He have been a painter there  40 years had not done anything else in life and was proud of having always managed to live painting, told me that the biggest mistake in  life, (for his career) had been coming to live in Algarve .

When coming from Chaves, his homeland, he felt in love to  the climate and region, but that passion, had caused him to lose the opportunity of having become a famous painter, saying that "Portugal is Lisbon and the rest is just landscape ", happens to be a sentiment shared by many other  persons from other regions of the country, because things seem to happen more slowly or not happen, when it comes to these areas, especially in an area like culture.
